A new year has started
First of all, I wish you all a happy new year and hope that you all arrived safely in 2022. Lots of people make resolutions at the beginning of a new year, and that goes for me and for Fahrt frei too.
The goals for Fahrt frei in 2022
The new year is dominated by the conversion of the .eng and .wag files of my rolling stock packages as well as the rolling stock of the former providers in Germany. It is possible to continue to use the rolling stock unchanged, but a revision of the .eng and .wag files means that functions that have been added by the OR can then also be used which would otherwise not be possible and, which leads to an upgrading of rolling stock. It is also possible in the OR to display the driving physics of the rolling stock much more realistically, which is why these entries are also revised on the basis of original data.
It is in the nature of things that, given the large number of rolling stock already available, this work will take some time, but the result of this work will greatly increase the degree of realism of the rolling stock.
First route of Fahrt frei
Work is now being carried out in this area as well. After the providers Pro Train and Halycon stopped all work years ago and German Railroads has been announcing the Höllentalbahn and the Hamburg - Bremen route for years, but apparently nothing is happening there either and, since GR, the intention has been to take its own path with regard to the simulation, the plan is now being drawn up on my part to produce and offer a separate route for the OR.
It will be a not too long branch line of the Bundesbahn, which will be located in the area of the late 70s or early 80s and will be located somewhere in the north German lowlands.
The construction is carried out by track builders from abroad, because if there is no track builder for this work in Germany, then those abroad will certainly not disdain this work.
More work
Other work is also being tackled, but I can't say anything about it yet, as this is still in its infancy.
The well-known, planned rolling stock packages
There will also be more packages here, because the announced packages have of course not been forgotten.
A lot to do
You can see that this year there is a lot of work to be done at Fahrt frei, but as I said several times, whatever happens, I go on.
Until next time
