Good news!
With the OR, there was previously only a simulation of the electrical power transmission for the diesel-traction. This will change soon, however, because the simulation of the mechanical and hydraulic power transmission is already being worked on and it is to be expected that both will be integrated into the OR by June 2022 at the latest. This means that in the future the entire diesel-traction in Germany, which is almost exclusively equipped with hydraulic power transmission, can be displayed realistically.
Effects on the workflow
These innovations naturally have an impact on the workflow. The entire diesel-traction that is equipped with mechanical or hydraulic power transmission is not processed for the OR until both power transmissions are simulated in the OR. Instead, the revision of the diesel-traction with electric power transmission as well as the electric as well as the steam traction is preferred. But that also means a lot of work.
What's next?
First, the preferred .eng files are viewed. A decision is then made as to which of these will be tackled first.
